OUR ISSUES
REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
We believe firmly in the right to privacy and freedom of choice in reproductive healthcare. The Texas abortion ban is deadly, and it’s not making anyone safer. That’s why we’re fighting to overturn it.
Waco Friends of the Climate is a local grassroots organization that raises awareness on this critical issue through education and direct action.
CLIMATE JUSTICE
This is one of the fundamental issues of our day, and it will define our legacy. Climate change, drought, compromised national security due to rising seas, famine, floods, and the climate refugee crisis are just a few of the climate-related issues that affect our everyday life. That’s why we’re advocating for sustainable energy and infrustructure which will benefit Americans for decades to come.
RACIAL JUSTICE—CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
The American justice system is flawed and in desperate need of change. Mass incarceration is destroying communities across the nation. ICE and other law enforcement agencies are encroaching upon basic freedoms and Constitutional Rights. It does not have to be this way. We’re fighting to build something better. Now is the time to be the change.
Healthcare Reform
We believe in expanding access to Medicaid and Medicare, as well as lowering the expenses involved in childcare. No one should have to avoid going to get the care they need out of fear that they might financially ruin themselves.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
Texas children deserve the best education possible. We’re fighting against Republican censorship, budget cuts, and voucher scams to make sure they get it.
LGBTQ+ Rights
As representatives of the real Party of freedom, we firmly support the right to privacy and uphold the principle of equality for all Americans—regardless of sexuality or gender. While Republicans try to strip away freedom, we will always fight to preserve it.
Voting Rights
We support the right to vote and understand its essential place as the cornerstone of our Democracy. Conservatives for decades have sought to restrict the right to vote, and Republicans are currently trying to do so. We will always fight against these bills, as well as for progressive policy such as the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
