Sharon Chandler

Hello everyone,
I am a Waco girl who graduated from University High School.  My college education began at McLennan Community College after high school graduation in 1967.
I earned  a Business Management degree (BBA) from Webster University in St Louis.
My career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company began in 1969 in Waco and was followed by positions in Austin, St Louis and Dallas before retiring in 1999.  My work included positions in Network Technology and long term planning.
I have always considered myself a democrat but felt a strong desire to become a volunteer after 45 was elected.
Meeting Mary Duty, Mary Mann, Tammie Hartgroves, Jackie Rhodes and so many others have motivated me to register students to vote, register adults to vote, work at polling locations.
Thank all for these opportunities.  You are all my heroes!

John DeVries

John DeVries is a political scientist and lifelong progressive activist who has been involved in McLennan County Democratic grass roots politics for 45 years.  He writes a political/autobiographical/eulogy tribute blog that he will gladly share with all interested persons.  He occasionally writes compelling poetry.  He has taught Government courses at area community colleges and is particularly interested in helping to strengthen the long term infrastructure of the McLennan County Democratic Party. He has many friends within the McLennan County Democratic and progressive communities.  Currently, because he believes that "money is the mother's milk of politics" that often determines the winner of important elections, he is helping the McLennan County Democratic Party raise funds.  He seeks more volunteers, more $, and more Democratic votes in McLennan County and Texas for the McLennan County Democratic Party. Most importantly, he wants the Texas Democratic ticket to prevail in 2022 !
