City School Board Election, 2 May

Important elections are coming up very soon on the 2nd of May! These are non-partisan races and the MCDP supports the non-partisan status of these offices. We do not endorse candidates. That said, we do want each and every one of you to vote if an election is being held in your part of the county. It is absolutely true that local government in many cases has more effect on your day-to-day life than state or national government.

Early Voting is underway now. The word is that turnout is very slim. We need you to exercise your right to vote. The best way to keep your rights is to exercise them.

Plan Your Vote!

Here are the important dates for this Election.

  • 28 April Last Day of Early Voting

  • 2 May - City School Board Election Day/Last Day to Receive Mail-in Ballot at the Elections Office

You don't want to wait until the deadline to act. If you have a ballot by mail, fill it out NOW and mail it as soon as you get it. Consider voting early instead waiting for Election Day.

Research Your Vote

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
